Finest Hour Farms is proud to offer the 2024 colt by Ferdeaux out of our exceptional KWPN mare Jamaica-STRH.

Unequivocally Yours FHF (“Coda”)

Coda’s pedigree is nothing short of impressive, consisting of the most sought after Dutch lines - Negro, Bordeaux, Ferro, Zhivago, Krack C, and Jazz. His dam, Jamaica-STRH, bred in Holland by the 2020 KWPN Breeder of the Year, Jan Strepple, is from the same damline as dressage sensation, Governor. His sire, Ferdeaux, has proven himself to be a sire of outstanding performers; siring 3 approved KWPN sons, 29 Ster mares, 21 keur eligible mares, 28 Elite mares, and 14 Sport mares. His most famous offspring to date is Pavo Cup winner and multi champion, Las Vegas.

Coda boasts the most extreme presence and character; he is bold, brave, and inquisitive. His uphill confirmation and stance, sloped shoulder and excellent hip angle lend themselves to his truly exceptional movement - his gaits are driven from his powerful hind end with substantial lift in the shoulder and an expressive front leg. Most impressive, is his unreal ability to sit.

Coda’s exceptional pedigree, excellent confirmation and type, uphill, elastic, balanced and expressive movement, and gorgeous exterior make him a top upper level dressage prospect for the professional. At this time we are considering him to have stallion potential; a comment we do not make lightly.

Available only to a top performance home.

Basic care and board through weaning is included in his purchase.

Sire - Ferdeaux

Bordeaux keur / Ferro pref / Zonneglans

Ferdeaux provides a distinctive mix of Europe’s best bloodlines. He impresses inspectors and judges alike with his abundant canter and supple, powerful gait mechanics.  His potent genetics, have proven him to be a sire of outstanding performers in a competitive market.

Ferdeaux campaigned with much success at the top sport level before retiring to full time stud duties.  Dutch rider Kirsten Brouwer trained and competed him for the majority of his career.

Ferdeaux transmits the exciting legacy of sires Bordeaux (United/Gribaldi) and Ferro.  The modern day legend Bordeaux, and foundation sire Ferro, were both grand prix winners and are prodigious sires of grand prix performers. Ferdeaux’s dam Part Two is a ster preferent prestatie mare by Ferro out of the ster prestatie mare Fabiola by Zonneglans.  Part Two is the dam of another KWPN stallion, Number Two (by Just Wimphof).  She is a proven producer of FEI dressage horses, with four offspring competing at the Prix St. Georges level or above.  Double Trouble 2 (x Jazz) is showing Prix St. Georges and Intermediare on the Small Tour; also at Prix St. Georges are U-2 (x Goodtimes), and Winne-Two (x Goodtimes). Her dam Fabiola produced the Big Tour competitor Tiptop Mateo (by Metall) and Zxen (by Special D) who competes at the international Prix St. Georges level.  Fabiola is out of the ster mare Wenda, a daughter of the Holsteiner Rubinstein by Lorenz. The fascinating pedigree of Ferdeau’s sire Bordeaux blends together the blood of top dressage horses from all over Europe as follows: United x Gribaldi x Donnerhall x Rousseau (by Westfalen Romadour II) x Angelo xx.  Bordeaux’s sire, United, finished his performance test in Ermelo with the highest results ever recorded at the time: 9.5 for trot, canter and dressage ability. United’s sire Krack C and damsire Partout were both international grand prix horses under Dutch Olympian Anky van Grunsven.

Gribaldi is a Trakehner best known as the sire of the world-record-breaking competitor Totilas, but Gribaldi himself was also a successful International Grand Prix competitor.   He is also a mega sire, with than 95 Grand Prix competitors and 50 approved sons including Hofrat, Easy Game, and Totilas.  Olympic gold medalist Dalera, a Trakehner mare, is a Gribaldi granddaughter. The German Oldenburg Donnerhall is another titan in sporthorse breeding.  He was acclaimed as one of the top sires of international Grand Prix horses in the world for many years, before being replaced by his equally potent sons, such as De Niro, Desperados and Don Schufro. Finally Bordeaux traces to the mare Adone, by the thoroughbred Angelo.  Adone represents a cherished Westfalen mare line founded by breeder Herbert Debaey.  Adone produced 4-time Olympic gold medalist Rembrandt, and was a full sister to 2-time Olympic Ahlerich, and 3-time Olympian Amon.  Her full sister Antine is the dam of Olympic stallion Rubinstein, whose blood is routinely sought for exemplary rideability.

Preferent stallion Ferro, damsire of Ferdeaux, needs no introduction to serious breeders. Riders also treasure him for his powerful, active hindleg, and exemplary talent for piaffe.   He is a foundation sire for the KWPN, and riders and breeders alike avidly seek his lineage.   Carl Hester, Olympic competitor and well-regarded coach, was quoted by Horse Magazine with this advice for aspiring riders, “We know from a lot of the horses we’ve had, that if you can find your Ferro lines, then you are going to get a high level of work ethic, so that’s where you start.”

Dam - Jamaica-STRH, stb

Fairytale (Lord Leatherdale/Negro) / Zhivago / Jazz

Jamaica-STRH is a lovely mare with an impressive pedigree. She was bred by the 2020 KWPN Breeder of the year, Jan Streppel along with Stephan Haarman of Stoeterij Beltmanshoeve in the Netherlands.

Jamaica has a wonderful character and exceptional mind. She is naturally forward thinking with a strong work ethic and desire to please. She has three correct, balanced, and expressive gaits. Her walk has good energy, swing, and overtrack. Her trot is rhythmic, has freedom in the shoulder and ample knee action, and her canter is uphill with good activity and carrying power.

Jamaica was shown through M level and trained through Z level prior to her import from Holland in 2022. Jamaica’s value as a broodmare was easily recognized by KWPN judges and she was accepted into the KWPN Studbook during the Keuring Tour in 2023. In addition, her 2023 filly, To Feel the Rhythm FHF, was awarded First Premium.
