About

Founded in 2021, by Stefanie Erlwein and Jeff Kuntz, Finest Hour Farms is situated on 60 acres in Cynthiana, Kentucky, centered in the heart of horse country.

Our breeding program focuses on producing high quality dressage prospects. We have a small band of broodmares who have been carefully selected, based not only on bloodlines, but also trainability, temperament, movement, and aptitude to produce foals that share these same qualities.

In addition to our breeding program, we offer Long and Short-Term Broodmare Care, Young Horse Raising, and Retirement Board. We are committed to providing high quality, personalized care and take pride in the work we do; each horse is loved and cared for as if they were our own.

Stefanie and Jeff

Stefanie is a lifelong equestrian, spending her early years competing her off the track thoroughbred mare in the jumper ring. After purchasing a dressage bred KWPN foal, Finest Hour, she turned her focus to dressage and has never looked back. In 2011, Stefanie was accepted into a working student position with USDF Gold medalist Gina Duran of Topline Training. Each summer, for 10 years, she managed the care of Gina’s training horses. This opportunity reinforced and strengthened Stefanie’s knowledge of training, riding, young horse handling, and the high quality care and nutritional needs of our equine athletes. Stefanie sits on the Board of Directors for the United States Sporthorse Breeders Association (USSHBA) and is committed to supporting and promoting quality sporthorses bred in the US.

Jeff is the man behind the scenes of Finest Hour Farms. He took our 60 acre blank slate and turned it into a beautiful, full functioning equine facility. There is nothing this man can not build or can not fix, and not a single horse that does not love his steady and caring demeanor.

During construction of Finest Hour Farms, Jeff and Stefanie were given the opportunity to live at a nearby thoroughbred breeding farm. They immersed themselves into the ins and outs of the thoroughbred breeding business; from the care of foals and youngstock, to broodmare preparation and management, to racehorse fitness and training. This opportunity provided them with invaluable insight and connections into the racehorse industry, allowing them to extend services to thoroughbred clients as well.
